Do you want to become a DCE certified judge?

This year, besides the DCE championships, the judges of Drum Corps Europe will also judge a lot of other competitions. Altogether, the competitions of DCN, DCUK, IMBA, German Open, IPE and DCE keep the DCE judging panel busy for many days. The judging panel is growing every year, but DCE is still looking for more judges.

The minimum requirement to be a judge is several years’ experience as an instructor with a colour guard or drum & bugle corps, good command of the English language and 'the ability to judge fairly', as described by DCE Director of Education, Bob Thomas.

Prospective judges will get the necessary training, which is completed with an exam. Those who successfully complete the exam may consider themselves a certified judge and will get the option to judge competitions in several European countries, like the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. Interested parties should contact Douglas Caldwell: douglas@drumcorpseurope.org.
