37th Kingswood Scouts - 2010 Production

Press Release by 37th Kingswood Scouts

There is no greater honour for an athlete then to represent their country in the sporting spectacular that is the Olympic Games – this summer 37th Kingswood will endeavour to recreate the excitement and drama of this prestigious event in their 2010 production:

‘The Olympic Games - The Race to the Finish’.

37th Kingswood 2010 - The Race To The FinishWe will portray coverage of a few of the many events in which Team GB have achieved Olympic medal glory – our athletes begin at the starting line of the long distance race, with inspiration from such legends as Lord Sebastian Coe, Steve Cram and the 4 minute man Sir Roger Banister. This surely will end up in a race to the finish.

While the race progresses we continue to the next event at the cycling track- Team GB have had great success on the bike since 1992 and the Beijing Olympics saw Sir Chris Hoy achieving a phenomenal 3 gold medals. We will show the power generated between man and machine as the wheels turn….

Next stop will be at the waterfront as we see the likes of Ben Ainslie taking to the seas and sailing Team GB to victory and catching Sir Steve Redgrave and Mathew Pinsent driving their oars through the rowing lake.

The gloves then go on with strength and determination as we enter the boxing ring for a few rounds with the likes of Amir Kahn and Audley Harrison.

Our last event we will be down at the Equestrian centre - with the likes of royalty competing this surely will be a stunning display of the powerful relationship between man and beast.

Finally we rejoin our athletes in the closing stages of the long distance race to witness ‘The Race to the Finish’ line – join us to discover who will achieve their Olympic Dreams………..
