Southern Aurora announce new Director

With Ian Lyall stepping down from his position as Corps Director last week, the committee of Southern Aurura have invited David Pope to take the position, which he accepted. David was previously Corps Director during the 2004 & 2005 seasons.

David will also take responsibility for the additional areas that the organisation is pursuing to widen their activity base, these already include a competitive winter drumline and senior pit ensemble.

More diversity is planned including the opening of a Music and Dance Academy, to teach younger members, without the restrictions a competitive season puts upon them and allow them to progress at there own speed, with the eventual aim of moving to one or more of the other activities they offer.

It is the intention for the main Corps to return to competitive competition in 2007, more news of which will follow shortly.

5th August 2006
