BYBA Open Individuals & Ensembles contest results

The 25th November saw the 2012 edition of the BYBA Individuals & Ensembles Open Showcase Event, held this year at Sir Graham Balfour High School, North Avenue, Stafford.

72 performances in Brass, Woodwind, Percussion & Guard made up a fantastic full days entertainment.

The culmination of this years Individual and Ensembles was the British Youth Band Associations "Young Musician of the Year" contest for the Brian Griffiths Memorial Trophy.

The Finalists were:

Percussion -Sam Heeley, Concord Youth Music (13&U)
Brass - Bethany Ludlow, Liberty Drum Corps (11&U)
Woodwind - Myvanue Smith, Doncaster Danum Scouts (17&U)
Mallets - Thomas Stewart , Concord Youth Music (13&U)

Whilst all finalists must be congratulated, the 2012 BYBA Young Musician of the Year and winner of the Brian Griffiths Memorial Trophy was Sam Heeley.
