Concord 30th Anniversary Celebrations - Alumni Help Needed

Press release from Concord

In 2014 Concord will be celebrating 30 years of continuous activity in the youth music business since its formation in 1984.

We have a whole series of events, commemorations and souvenirs planned for this significant landmark designed to involve all reaches of our Concord family – from current members of Concord AllStars and the Senior Ensemble, to staff, parents, supporters and, of course, our many alumni members.

One of the major projects we have planned is the publication of a 48-page full colour A4 book illustrating the history of Concord from its origins in the Scout and Air Cadet movements, through the very active competitive phase in both drum and bugle corps and Winterguard, to our current productions in musical theatre.

The book will include many photographs taken across the whole 30-year period. We already have quite a good collection in our archives but we are looking for more. Do you have a particularly interesting or unusual shot of Concord activities (not that one, Dan !) or one that holds special memories for you ? We’d like to include these in the collection. We promise to take good care of any originals and to return them safely to you. If you can scan and email good quality images, all the better.

We would also like to include a collection of “snap-shot” memories or anecdotes – short pieces of memorabilia that remind you of special moments. Just a short paragraph is all that’s needed – with dates and relevant information.

The target publication date is the end of March 2014 so the sooner we receive your contributions the better.

Please contact rcs@concord.org.uk and we’ll take it from there.

More details of other souvenirs and events will follow soon – watch this space.
