Scouts Report Successful Camp

In preparation for the second half of the season, the Kidsgrove Scouts went through a weekend rehearsal camp on 1st to 3rd September at Leek, Staffordshire.

The camp was a great success and the entire corps finished the new rewrites to the show developed during the summer break. The corps was pleased to welcome back the members who have spent the summer marching or teaching DCI Corps in the USA, in addition to returning members from past years and new members joining the corps for the first time. All were happy to be part of the Kidsgrove Scouts and have slotted into the 2006 show effortlessly.

The camp went well (despite the rather inclement weather) and Rob Swindells (Corps Coordinator says that everything is now ready for the second half of the season and the run up to the DCUK finals: “The show has come together brilliantly and all members worked incredibly hard to get the show to a fantastic standard for the second half. We look forward to performing with the full corps”.

Steve Muzio of from the brass staff said “The hornline is sounding great now with everyone back and with the B flat horns the quality is starting to show”.

The scouts are looking forward to performing at Stafford this upcoming weekend and then in Newport the following weekend, before moving in for finals camp on the Wednesday before DCUK finals at the end of September.
