Concord receives Royal recognition

We are delighted to announce that Concord Youth Music has received The Duke of York's Community Initiative Award. 

The scheme, which is under the direct sponsorship of HRH The Duke of York, recognises local voluntary groups that are making a difference through their activities with members of the community.

Representatives of the Initiative visited Concord on two occasions - to look into the administration, policies, aims and strategies of the organisation. They also attended rehearsals of both Concord Youth Music and Concord AllStars to see how we worked with our members. On these occasions they spoke extensively to members, staff and parents.

Benefits of the Award obviously include the Royal recognition and the right to include the logo of the Award on all publicity and promotional materials. There is also the opportunity to appy for funding, training workshops and support. Award winners are also encouraged to act as mentors and examples of good practise to other groups.

The Award will be presented during a ceremony at The Magna Science and Adventure Centre, Rotherham on Thursday 16th October by HRH The Duke of York
