High
Brass to run Brass Workshop
High Brass are proud to announce that they will be hosting a brass seminar on Saturday 21st October 2006 at The Pyramid Arts Centre, Warrington.
“We have not asked directors to select their ‘best players’ to take part in this event”, explains High Brass director, Chris Jones, “We are looking for players who have shown the most improvement, or perhaps the best attitude or who have potential to become the best players in the future.”
The four hour seminar will start at 12.00pm and be hosted by Ian Darrington, MBE who has played a huge part in the musical advancement of High Brass in recent times. There will also be contributions from members of the band themselves, many of whom are still, or have once been, actively involved in marching arts themselves.
The afternoon seminar is open to everyone and High Brass encourages those wishing to watch the seminar to come along and join in. Entrance is free to those with tickets for the evening performance, a £2 entrance fee will be charged for those wishing to watch the afternoon seminar only.
“This type of event is an exciting development for the band, it is something we have been wanting to do for some time now”, Chris Jones told us, “however, the drum corps clinics that have taken place this year have really inspired us to commit to this event. We hope we can help in some way to the musical development of those involved in marching arts as it played such a huge part in getting us to where we are today.”
Tickets for the evening event are £7 each and available from the Pyramid Arts Centre box office on 01925 422345
