Results and full recaps from Barnsley contest

The 2016 Drum Corps United Kingdom season kicked off with a 8 Corps (1 Junior Class and 7 Open Class) event held at the Barnsley FC Academy ground with a newly laid astro-turf pitch, which considering the awful weather over the previous few days, ensured the Corps had the perfect performing surface for this first contest of the summer.

The standard this year at the start of the season does seem to be slightly higher than previous years which bodes well for an exciting and entertaining few months.  Also the stand was full of supporters for most of the day, including the British Youth Band Association contest that took at the same venue in the morning, and hopefully this will continue at the other shows this year.
