DCUK 22 - National Marching Music Day

It's March 4th and National Marching Music Day - https://nationaldaycalendar.com/marching-music-day-march-4/

As today is a day to promote all things marching music we thought it would be an ideal time to give an update on DCUK 2022!

We have recently corresponded with all 2021 DCUK member organisations to ascertain their current situation together with their plans for this coming summer. The continued pandemic has meant many Corps now have reduced membership and also reduced rehearsal time plus in some cases are not fielding a unit in 2022 and so, taking into account the replies back and the commitments given - plus contact from a few other interested Corps - we can now advise that for 2022 DCUK will host two contests - one on Sunday 17th July and one on Sunday 4th September plus the British Drum Corps Championships on Saturday 17th September.

In addition, discussions are well advanced with our Euro Drum Corps Partners to hold a European Championships event on Saturday 24th September in mainland Europe.

We are excited to also advise that we will be bringing back DrumLine Battle events in 2022, as proud partners of DCI, which will be open to ANY organisation regardless of whether a DCUK member Corps or not - if you can drum then you can take part!!

More details of all DCUK events - including the date registrations will open - will be announced in the next couple weeks but after two summers of no live Drum Corps events we are just pleased that we are able to announce a return to live shows for 2022 and that enough Corps have committed to DCUK to allow these events to take place.
