For the past few years the DCUK (and European) Drum Corps Judges have been managed by Ivan Balchin and earlier this year Ivan advised that he wished to step back from this role. On behalf of all involved with DCUK and the Corps, we would like to give huge thanks to Ivan for all the commitment, dedication and efforts he has put into this role, specifically since COVID, and are extremely grateful for his support over the years . Don’t worry - he won’t be going far as Ivan will still be heavily involved in WGUK: Winter Guard United Kingdom judging this coming season.

As a result of this change we are now extremely pleased to announce that the DCUK SoundSport Judges Co-ordinator will be Ian Lyall.

Ian has been a DCUK Judge for most of the past 30+ years and was originally with Imperial/Southern Knights Drum & Bugle Corps from Brighton as either the Corps Director, Brass Caption Head and/or Brass Arranger during the 1980’s, He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role to ensure a smooth transition from the traditional 8 man judging panel to the now more streamlined 3 man panel for SoundSport.
