The countdown to the 2006 British Drum Corps Championships begins....!

It's full steam ahead for DCUK .......

Chris Gibbs, the 2006 Championships Director, and Jill Boyington, DCUK Administrator, spent a day at Burton Albion Football Club to meet with the management and confirm finals details for the forthcomning Championships event on 30th September.

Chris Gibbs says "it was a very positive meeting and the Burton Albion Football Club management are working hard with DCUK to ensure the day is both enjoyable and a success for members and spectators alike".  Ben Robinson, Chairman of the Burton Albion, could not have been more helpful throughout his discussions with Chris and Jill including 'introducing' DCUK to the local Mayor and Editor-in-Chief of the Burton Mail by ringing their offices direct on our behalf.

Although smaller than previous venues used by DCUK, the smaller stadium will ensure the drum corps 'spirit' will be well and truly be alive throughout the event.  Being a brand new stadium, facilities are excellent for spectators and members alike with concourses, refreshments and ample on-site car parking.  Facilities for disabled supporters are also excellent - if you need access to the disabled facilities please contact the DCUK office in advance to ensure arrangements are in place.

Access to the stadium by road is also excellent, being only a few minutes drive from the A38.  By train Burton is only half an hour from Birmingham.

DCUK is also delighted to be hosting he World's Fastest Drummer competition - anyone and everyone can have a go!

Full details including a confirmed timetable with Open Class Prelims commencing at 1.00pm will be announced shortly, but in the meantime DCUK will be working hard to ensure all members and spectators have a fantastic and memorable day.

Tickets will be on sale in the main entrance of the stadium on the day but for the best seats it is strongly recommended that you purchase your tickets before the event.  These can be purchased via the DCUK's 'Shop Online'.

For all enquiries please contact Jill at the DCUK Office or phone 0114 249 1922.
