DCUK
2007 Champions crowned
It was Sunday 16th September in Burton Upon Trent
when DCUK crowned its 2007 Champions.
Performing to a
very appreciative audience of Drum Corps fans, all 8
DCUK member Corps executed superb shows and despite,
once again, the British weather trying its hardest to
dampen things there was no chance of that happening with
both the International Open and National Open Class
contests providing a nail biting finish.
Kidsgrove
Scouts came out on top in the International Open Class
to take the British Drum Corps Championships title for
the first time, with The Senators coming in only 0.1
points behind. Last years Champions, Black Knights, took
3rd place with the joint talents of Southern Aurora and
Legion Star coming in 4th. (DCUK
would like to apologise for the slight delay in the announcement
of the results of this class on the night due to an
issue with the spreadsheet calculation for 4th place
and, to ensure the right score was provided, the figures
were recalculated before being announced)
In
the National Open Class Poynton Commodores edged ahead
of Concord to take that title with Staffordshire Knights
coming in 3rd and finally Black Knights Cadets took the
National Junior Class title. Full recaps available
here.
So another
season drew to close with top class entertainment
provided by all Corps and thanks to all the members,
staff and supporters for making 2007 another successful
year.
This is DCUK - the Home of British Drum
Corps.
