Federation - Looking for new recruits
Press Release by British
Federation of Youth Marching Band Organisations
The Federation is 10 years old this year
Do you want to joint the party ??
We are looking for enthusiasts with skills to help us into our 2nd
decade
To celebrate our 10th Birthday we are putting into practice aspects
of the report we recently commissioned from the National Council for
Voluntary Organisations which was funded by the John Ellerman
Foundation.
For the Federation to have a sustainable future and further develop
its role, it recommended that we identify additional people with
specific skills to work with the current team on our national and
international programme of support for the whole activity.
The Federation wants to attract people onto its voluntary management
team who have skills in Finance and Funding, Communication,
Marketing, Training, and Business Administration. It is important
that these posts are filled by those who have as strong belief in
the value of youth marching bands for individuals and for the
communities that they serve.
Whilst those who fulfil these roles could wish to become Trustees,
others might prefer instead to undertake their role as a member of
an operational team. We are keen to recruit those with experience,
and those in the early stages of their careers for whom a national
voluntary role could add to their career development.
All of these positions are voluntary with budgets and expenses
dependent of the success of identifying funding sources. Full
details are on our web site www.marchingbands.org.uk
Those interested should respond by May 31st. It is then anticipated
that a meeting of interested parties will be held in late June or
early July. Those interested should view the Federation’s web site
in order to understand its role within the UK’s youth marching
band activity.
