DCE announce entrants in 2011 Euro Championships

Press Release by Drum Corps Europe

The list of participants for the DCE European Championships has been announced. All European top corps are back for the European Championships. Drum Corps Europe is also pleased to greet newcomers from Ireland and Italy.

Next year, 22 corps will compete for the European titles. In the Premier Class, 17 corps will take the field. Reigning European champions Kidsgrove Scouts will also be competing and take on Dutch champions Juliana, Italian champions Millennium, German champions Starriders and former title holders Beatrix and Jubal. There will also be two newcomers competing in the Premier Class. For the first time, Ireland is represented by the Clonmel Bluehawks. Mosson brings the number of Italian participants to three.

The Junior Class is also well-represented. The Dutch top three Johan Friso, Jong Jubal and Jong Beatrix will have to compete with the French Kadoudal and the Irish Ravens. DCE is pleased with the range of participants. "We are very proud to be welcoming so many top corps from all over Europe", said DCE Chairman Marcel Matthijsse. "We are also pleased to once again be welcoming new corps, both in the Premier Class and the Junior Class. It is a good thing that the Junior Class too will really turn into a European title fight next year."
