The Sixth announces 2012 Program
Press release by The Sixth
The Sixth's 2012 season is already underway!!! While the corps worked hard to secure their
place in the 2011 DCE finals; the 2012 design team were working hard to bring a production
that will entertain the crowd and make you see The Sixth in a new light.
Roses are red, violets are blue - or are they? The colours you see may not always be the
same as the colours someone else sees… we see colour through our brains, not our eyes.
What if you had to see language to communicate? What if you had no vision at all?
How would your world change on what you see?
The Sixth are proud to present the 2012 production entitled 'Can You See What I See?'
Enjoy as we explore the music and visual ideas that we believe relate to how everyone sees
the world differently from 20/20 vision to total blindness.
Phil Clegg, Director of The Sixth says: “2012 will bring yet another exciting step up for the
corps, with new staff bringing new ideas to the table and enhancing the solid foundations that
already exist. The 2012 show concept will take a more contemporary approach and open up
new ideas and opportunities to develop our members.”
We officially welcome back the staff from 2011 as well as a few additions:
Alex Fricker as Show Co-ordinator
Paul Brakewell as Visual Designer
Joe Rodwell/Stuart Longley as Music Arrangers
The 2012 Ensemble will explore new boundaries to the corps and offer a variety of music as
we perform music by Bella Bartok, Thomas Newman and David Arnold.
The corps will be showcasing a selection of music from their 2012 programme at the WGUK
show on the 18th March in Burgess Hill.
