The Comets Performance Ensemble announce their 2015 production, ‘A Night At The Theatre - Musical Diversity’
The musical theatre has a very diverse history throughout the world, particularly on Broadway and in our very own ‘West End’ where many have found their fame and fortune. It is with this backdrop that The Comets pay their tribute in their own style to the musical theatre and would like to take you, the audience to ‘A Night At The Theatre – Musical Diversity’.
We take you back to the French Revolution and portray the dark, mysterious and the political wrangling in France at the time which is depicted in ‘Les Miserables’
Then, we move on to 1920’s Chicago and how the city coped with the roaring 20’s and the jazz that came with it.
We move on from the roaring 20’s to the dodgy dealings and the gangland warfare that was New Jersey in the 1960’s. It was known that you either moved into the gangs or into music. Fortunately Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons chose the second route and this is celebrated with the smash musical Jersey Boys.
We then conclude back in Britain and examine the dark side of witchcraft, through the musical smash hit, Wicked.
So from everyone at The Comets we would like you to purchase those golden theatre tickets and quickly take your seats as the show will begin. Get your popcorn and drinks on standby as this will be the show of year! So here we go …… PLEASE WELCOME TO THE THEATRE TODAY THE COMETS PERFORMANCE
ENSEMBLE!
